Timber
TIMBER
Timber is a long haired German Shepherd. He is registered with the Canadian Kennel
Club. He carries the long hair gene, which means he can have long haired pups. All
Timber's progeny are eligible to be registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, although
you won't see them in the show ring. They are frowned upon. Why? Because their hair is
longer than everybody else's. To me, it doesn't matter. If the coat is long, short or plush,
if the colour is black, sable or black & tan. A good dog doesn't have a bad colour or a bad
coat length. Long haired German Shepherds have been around as long as the rest of
them. They are not a "new breed", just a variation on a very old breed.
Timber will be used this spring as a mate for Indy. This is a repeat breeding. Timber has
not been tested for Hip & Elbow Dysplasia. He had never been intended to be used as a
stud dog. However, after the untimely death of his litter brother, Justice, Timber became
my source of excellent blood lines. His superb health, conformation, temperament and
longevity was just too much to ignore. At the age of 11, he is still going strong with no
signs of HD or ED and he still has lots of youthful enthusiasm. All his ancestor's have
clear health tests and his pups come with the regular full 2 year written health guarantee.
Timber's temperament is very laid back. He is happy being a couch potato but when the
time comes he has a high prey drive and lots of energy. Timber belongs to my daughter
and lives on a farm not far from Guardian Angel Shepherds. He lives the life of luxury in
the house with his family.

large litter of 10 black & tan pups.
There was one other long haired pup
in the litter. He went on to become a
back of the group. He came from a
with pride that I had somehow, in my
own small way, helped on such a tragic
day.
